Are Næss (14 November 1942 – 12 August 2024) was a Norwegian physician and politician for the Christian Democratic Party. Life and career Næss was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Hordaland in 1993, and was re-elected on one occasion. Næss studied English and later medicine, becoming a specialist in infectious diseases 1986. He worked as a doctor, and from 1993 he was a professor at Haukeland University Hospital Haukeland University Hospital () is a hospital in Bergen, Norway, and one of the eleven institutions that make up Bergen Hospital Trust. Christian Democratic Party (Norway)
The Christian Democratic Party (, , , KrF; ) is a Christian-democratic political party in Norway founded in 1933. The party is an observer member of the European People's Party (EPP). Hordaland
Hordaland () was a county in Norway, bordering Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Telemark, and Rogaland counties. Hordaland was the third largest county, after Akershus and Oslo, by population.
