Archery At The 2006 Asian Games
Archery was competed at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Men and women competed in both individual and team events with all competition taking place at the Lusail Archery Range from December 9 through December 13. The competition included only recurve events. Archery At The 2002 Asian Games
Archery was contested from October 6 to October 10 at the 2002 Asian Games at the Gangseo Archery Field, in Busan, South Korea. The competition included only recurve events. South Korea won both team gold medals. Hiroshi Yamamoto of Japan won the men's individual title while Yuan Shu-chi from Chinese Taipei won the women's gold medal. Chen Szu-yuan
Chen Szu-yuan (; born 7 February 1981) is an athlete from the Republic of China. He competes in archery. 2004 Summer Olympics Chen competed for the Republic of China (as Chinese Taipei) at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery. He won his first three elimination matches, advancing to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Chen faced Laurence Godfrey of Great Britain, losing 110-108 in the 12-arrow match. Chen placed 7th overall. Chen was also a member of Chinese Taipei's silver medal men's archery team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Chen finished his ranking round with a total of 654 points. This gave him the 38th seed for the final competition bracket in which he faced Muhammad Marbawi in the first round, beating the Malaysian 107-106. Yun Mi-jin (; born April 30, 1983) is an archer from South Korea who has won three Olympic gold medals and is a former world number one. She holds the Olympic record for a women's 18-arrow match, at 173 out of a possible 180. Yun set the record in Sydney, Australia at the 2000 Summer Olympics and matched it in 2004 in Athens, Greece. In Sydney Yun placed 4th in the individual ranking round with a score of 661. In the first elimination round she beat Erika Reyes of Mexico 168-157. Yun Ok-hee (, ; born 1 March 1985) is a South Korean archer, who won the gold medal in the team and a silver in the individual competition at the 2006 Asian Games and is a former world number one. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Yun finished her ranking round with a total of 667 points, six points behind ranking leader Park Sung-hyun. This gave her the second seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Albina Kamaltdinova in the first round, beating the archer from Tajikistan 109-102. In the second round, Yun was too strong for Marie-Pier Beaudet (114-107) and via Chen Ling (113-103) in the third round she advanced to the quarter-finals. Park Sung-hyun (archer)
Park Sung-hyun (; born 1 January 1983) is an archer from South Korea who competed in two Olympic Games, winning three gold medals. Park made her international archery debut in 2001, winning the women's recurve title at that year's World Archery Championships. Her Olympic debut came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where she won gold medals in both the women's individual and women's team events. She won two further medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics, achieving her third Olympic gold in the women's team event before earning the silver medal as the runner-up in the women's individual event. Jayanta Talukdar (born 2 March 1986 in Guwahati) is an Indian archery, archer from Assam. He has won individual gold Medal in the 2006 Archery World Cup. Career Talukdar was part of the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2004 Junior World Championships. He followed up with a gold medal at the International Archery Federation, FITA Meteksan World Cup in 2006, becoming the first Indian archer (bhartiya tirandaj) to win gold at the event. Tarundeep Rai
Tarundeep Rai (born 22 February 1984) is an Indian archer from Sikkim. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021 by the Government of India for his contribution to sports. He is a three time Olympian. Early life Rai was born in Namchi, Sikkim, India. He is supported by a sports NGO, Olympic Gold Quest. Career Rai made his international debut in 2003 at the age of 19 years at the Asian Archery Championship 2003 held at Yangon, Myanmar.
