Arcadia Park (Warsaw)
The Arcadia Park is an urban park in Warsaw, Poland. It is located in the district of Mokotów between Puławska Street, Warsaw, Puławska Street, Żywnego Street, Piaseczyńska Street, Idzikowskiego Street, and around the gardens of Królikarnia Palace. It was opened in 1970. History In 1680, within the current area of the park, nobleperson and politician Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski, built his palace residence, which he had called ''Arkadia'' (''Arcadia''). It was designed by architect Tylman van Gameren. Around the residence were built gardens. Neither structure survives to the present day. In 1720, the area was bought by Augustus III of Poland, monarch of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Cecilia Caterina Maria Gattai Tomatis née Filippazzi (Milan, 1747 - 1792, Warsaw), was an Italian ballerina. She was a mistress of Stanisław August Poniatowski. Królikarnia Pond
Królikarnia (in English, "The Rabbit House") is a historic classicist palace in Warsaw, Poland; and a neighborhood in the Mokotów district of Warsaw. Since 1965, the palace has housed a museum dedicated to Polish sculptor Xawery Dunikowski. History The palace is named for its former function as a rabbit warren for Poland's King Augustus II the Strong (reigned 1697–1706 and 1709–33). The Królikarnia was erected on the picturesque Wisła River escarpment between 1782 and 1786 for King Stanisław August Poniatowski's Theatre Entrepreneur and Chamberlain, Charles Thomatis, Count de Valéry, by royal architect Domenico Merlini. The Vistula (; ) is the longest river in Poland and the ninth-longest in Europe, at in length. Czerniaków () is a neighbourhood, and an area of the City Information System, in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Mokotów. It is a residential area with high-rise multifamily housing. The neighbourhood features the St. Anthony of Padua Church dating to 1693, and the Warsaw Uprising Mound, an artificial hill and memorial, as well as the Czerniaków Lake, the largest still body of fresh water in the city. Piaseczno () is a town in east-central Poland with 47,660 inhabitants. A clay pit is a quarry or Mining, mine for the extraction of clay, which is generally used for manufacturing pottery, bricks or Portland cement. Sielce (Polish pronunciation: ) is a neighborhood in Mokotów district of Warsaw, Poland. Sielce is roughly bounded on the North by Podchorążych Street, the East by Czerniakowska Street, the South by Beethhovena Street, and the West by Sobieskiego Street.
