Arazi (horse)
Arazi (March 4, 1989 – July 1, 2021) was an American-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse who won the 1991 Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Background A Chestnut (coat), chestnut colt with a crooked white Horse markings, blaze on his face (like his grandsire, Northern Dancer), at Arazi was a small horse by Thoroughbred standards. Bred by Ralph Wilson, Ralph C. Wilson Jr., owner of the National Football League, NFL Buffalo Bills, he was bought at the Keeneland Sales in Kentucky as a weanling for $350,000 by American businessman Allen E. Paulson. Chairman of Gulfstream Aerospace and a Aviator, pilot, Paulson named the horse for the Arazi Aeronautical chart, aeronautical navigational checkpoint in the Arizona desert. Breeders' Cup Juvenile
The Breeders' Cup Juvenile is a Thoroughbred horse race for 2-year-old colts and geldings raced on dirt. It is held annually in late October or early November at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The current purse is US$2,000,000 making it the most valuable race for two-year-olds in North America. It is normally run at a distance of miles. The Breeders' Cup Juvenile is typically the first time that the best colts from the various racing circuits across North America (in New York, Kentucky and California in particular) meet up with each other. Horse Markings
Markings on horses are usually distinctive white areas on an otherwise dark base equine coat color, coat color. Most horses have some markings, and they help to identify the horse as a unique individual. Markings are present at birth and do not change over the course of the horse's life.
