Aras Koyi
Aras Fatih Rasul (born September 26, 1972), known by the stage names Aras Koyi (), is a Kurds in Sweden, Kurdish-Swedish singer, songwriter, director, scenarist, producer and Philanthropy, philanthropist. Early life and education Aras Fatih Rasul was born in Koy Sanjaq. His family was forced to leave Iraq in 1981 due to the political activities of his father, Fatih Rasul. His father Fatih was a Peshmerga who faced imprisonments, and ultimately, exile. When he was a young boy, Koyi lived in Soviet Union, where he continued his studies at Interdom in the city of Ivanovo. After finishing high school in 1990, he moved to the Eskilstuna in Sweden where he reunited with his long-separated family. In 1993, he returned to Moscow, where he began his studies to become a film director at the Moscow State Art and Cultural University. During his studies, Koyi began writing songs. Koy Sanjaq
Koy Sanjaq is a town and district in Erbil Governorate in Kurdistan Region, northern Iraq. Etymology The name of the town is derived from "köy" ("village" in Turkish) and " sanjaq" ("flag" in Turkish), and thus Koy Sanjaq translates to "village of the flag". History According to local tradition, Koy Sanjaq was founded by the son of an Ottoman sultan who planted his flag and established a garrison at the site of a seasonal bazaar after having defeated a rebellion at Baghdad, and developed into a town as locals moved to the settlement to provide services to the soldiers. A Jewish community at Koy Sanjaq is first mentioned in the late 18th century, by which time it was already well established. The community had its own graveyard, and spoke both Jewish Neo-Aramaic and Sorani Kurdish. A small Chaldean Catholic community was established in the town in the 19th century.
