Arappalayam
Arappalayam or Arapalayam () is a neighbourhood in Madurai city of Tamil Nadu State, India. It is on the south bank of the River Vaigai. The PIN code for Arasaradi-Arappalayam is 625016. Arappalaym was one of the 72 palayams created under Madurai Nayak's rule. In Tamil, ''Aaru'' means river and ''Palayam'' means area. Puttu (; ; ; ) is a dish native to the Southern Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and parts of Karnataka, as well as Sri Lanka. It is made of steamed cylinders of ground rice layered with coconut shavings, sometimes with a sweet or savory filling on the inside. Mattuthavani is a neighborhood on the outskirts of Madurai city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a fan fort of Ultimate Star Thala Ajith Kumar. Central vegetable and flower market Before being shifted to Mattuthavani, the Madurai district central vegetable market operated on North Chittirai street. This caused heavy traffic congestion on city roads because of the heavy flow of trucks and goods carriers. The market moved to vacant land between the bus stand and the agricultural marketing complex at Mattuthavani at a cost of ₹63 crore. The Integrated Central Vegetable Market at Mattuthavani opened at this new location from 1 September 2010. The complex was constructed at a cost of ₹13 crore. Dharapuram is a town situated along the banks of Amaravati River in Thiruppur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
