Rohingya (; Hanifi Rohingya: , ,, ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Rohingya people living in Rakhine State, Myanmar and Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. It is an Eastern Indo-Aryan language belonging to the Bengali–Assamese branch, and is closely related to the Chittagonian language spoken in neighbouring Bangladesh. The National United Party of Arakan (; NUPA) is a political organisation and Insurgency, insurgent group in Rakhine State, Myanmar. It was formed in 1994 as a merger between four nationalist groups, including a faction of the Communist Party of Arakan. Rakhine State ( ; , ; ), formerly known as Arakan State, is a Administrative divisions of Myanmar, state in Myanmar (Burma).
