Arabs In Denmark
Arabs in Denmark are Danish permanent residents of Arabs, Arab descent, who originate from Arab countries. The largest number of Arabs in the country are Iraqis. The majority hail from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Morocco followed by smaller groups from other Arab countries. They mainly live in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Jutland. There were 121,000 Arabs in Denmark as of 2017. Copenhagen ( ) is the capital and most populous city of Denmark, with a population of 1.4 million in the Urban area of Copenhagen, urban area. Ahmad Abu Laban
Ahmad Abu Laban (; 1946 – 1 February 2007) was a Danish-Palestinian imam and the leader of the organization The Islamic Society in Denmark. He was a central figure in the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy. Personal life Ahmad Abu Laban was born in 1946 in Jaffa, Mandatory Palestine. In 1948, his family fled to Cairo, Egypt, and he grew up there. In 1969, he graduated as a mechanical engineer. In 1974, he married his great cousin Inam; the couple had seven children. He studied Islamic theology with scholars in different Muslim countries. He was employed in the Persian Gulf oil industry from 1970 to 1982 and then worked for a contracting company in Nigeria from 1982 to 1984. He contributed to Islamic projects in education in different states of Nigeria. He emigrated to Denmark in 1984 and lived there for the rest of his life. Mustafa Ahmad Hassan (; born 10 February 1990) is an Iraqi-Danish professional footballer who currently plays for Gjelleråsen. Early life Hassan came to Denmark from Iraq at the age of thirteen, settling in Bornholm. He obtained a Danish passport in December 2008. ''X Factor'' is the Danish version of British TV show ''The X Factor'', created by Simon Cowell. The show premiered on 4 January 2008. For the first eleven seasons, the show was broadcast on DR1 before moving to TV 2 from the twelfth season onwards. There have been sixteen winners to date, most notable are Martin Hoberg Hedegaard (2008), Thomas Ring Petersen (2010), Anthony Jasmin (2014), Place on Earth (2018) & Mads Moldt (2022). Mohamed Ahmed Ali (; born 7 September 1993), also known by the mononym ''Mohamed'', is a Danish singer. Ali was born in Nørresundby, Aalborg. In 2009, he took part in Season 2 of ''The X Factor'', coming third after winner Linda Andrews and runners up Alien Beat Club. After the series, he signed a contract with Sony Music. The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 was the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song " Only Teardrops" by Emmelie de Forest. Anis Basim Moujahid (born 4 July 1992), better known as Basim, is a Danish pop singer and songwriter. He is of Moroccan origin. He has released two albums, ''Alt det jeg ville have sagt (album), Alt det jeg ville have sagt'' in 2008 and ''Befri dig selv'' in 2009.
