Arab Tunisian Bank
Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) (), a Tunisian commercial bank, was created on June 30, 1982, by the integration of a branch of the Arab Bank Tunis with Tunisian individuals. Its mission was contribution to the economic and financial development of the country. History Tunisia's first president, Habib Bourguiba, was helped by Abdul Hameed Shoman, the founder of the Arab Bank Group, in his combat against French colonization. In 1952, Bourguiba permitted Shoman to open an Arab bank branch in Tunisia, as Arab Bank-Tunis. In 1982, Arab Bank changed its name to Arab Tunisian Bank. Habib Bourguiba
Habib Bourguiba (3 August 19036 April 2000) was a Tunisian politician and statesman who served as the Head of Government of Tunisia, prime minister of the Kingdom of Tunisia from 1956 to 1957, and then as the first president of Tunisia from 1957 to 1987. Prior to his presidency, he led the nation to Tunisian independence, independence from France, ending the 75-year-old French protectorate of Tunisia, protectorate and earning the title of "Supreme Combatant". Abdul Hameed Shoman
Abdel Hamid Shoman (; born in 1888 – died on September 12, 1974) was a prominent Palestinian businessman, philanthropist, and banker. He is best known as the founder of the Arab Bank (), which became one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East. Shoman's contributions to the region's banking sector and his philanthropic efforts have left a lasting legacy. Life and education Shoman was born in 1890 in Beit Hanina, a village near Jerusalem, in the then Ottoman Empire. He came from a modest family background and had limited formal education. His father is Ahmed, and his siblings are Issa, Musa, and Yusuf.
