Aqqaluaq B. Egede
Aqqaluaq Biilmann Egede (born 1981 in Narsaq) is a Greenlandic politician from Inuit Ataqatigiit. He has been minister for raw materials and justice since April 2022, and he had previously been minister of finance and taxes (2016-2018) and minister of fisheries and prisoners (2021-2022). Political career Egede was a member of the municipal council in Narsaq Municipality 2005-2008 and in the merged Kujalleq Municipality 2009–2013. He was deputy to Inatsisartut in 2007 and has been a member of Inatsisartut since the election in 2009 . When Kuupik Kleist stepped down as chairman of Inuit Ataqatigiit on 31 March 2014, Egede became acting chairman of the party. Egede announced his candidacy for the post of chairman on 16 April 2014, but narrowly lost the election as he received 35 votes at the IA's extraordinary national meeting on 31 May 2014, while Sara Olsvig won with 37 votes. Narsaq
Narsaq ( Danish: ''Nordprøven'') is a town in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland. The name ''Narsaq'' is Kalaallisut for "Plain", referring to the shore of Tunulliarfik Fjord where the town is located. History People have lived in the area for thousands of years, but not continuously. Remains of the Norse settlement can be found in the area. The church ruins of Dyrnæs can be found on the north-western outskirts of the town. The Landnám homestead, ''Landnamsgaarden'', can be found immediately to the west of the town. Dated to the year 1000, the homestead is among the oldest of the Norse ruins in the area. Excavation of the ruins began in 1953 with the discovery of the Narsaq stick, the first Viking Age runic inscription discovered in Greenland. The wider Narsaq area has some of the most striking Norse artifacts and ruins. Erik the Red's Brattahlid is located in present-day Qassiarsuk, and the Gardar bishop seat is in present-day Igaliku. Múte Bourup Egede
Múte Inequnaaluk Bourup Egede (; born 11 March 1987) is a Greenlandic politician who served as the 7th Prime Minister of Greenland from 2021 to 2025. He has also served as Chairman of the Inuit Ataqatigiit since December 2018, and a Member of the Inatsisartut since May 2015. Early life Múte Inequnaaluk Bourup Egede was born in Nuuk on 11 March 1987. He grew up in Narsaq and was educated in Qaqortoq before studying cultural and social history at the University of Greenland in 2007. He was the vice chairman of the Greenlandic Academic Student Society from 2011 to 2012. He did not finish his studies and dropped out in 2013 to take over the family fodder company started by his father. Career In 2007, Egede was a member of the Greenlandic youth parliament, the ''Inuusuttut Inatsisartui''.
