April Byron
April Elizabeth Dove Potts (22 March 1947 – 10 July 2019), known professionally as April Byron, was an Australian pop singer and songwriter. She was the first female artist to collaborate with the Bee Gees after their formation as a band, on the 1966 single "He's a Thief" / "A Long Time Ago". Early life and career Byron was born in Warburton, Victoria and attended St. Peters Collegiate Girls School in Adelaide, South Australia. Her early business managers were Ron Tremaine and his wife Patricia Tremaine, a former Miss South Australia in 1959. Byron relocated to Melbourne in 1963 to play the Ivan Dayman dance circuit, including Festival Hall and the Palais St. Kilda, alongside other Australian teenage pop singers including Normie Rowe, Olivia Newton-John and Bobby and Laurie. Horace Andrew Dargie (7 July 1917 – 30 August 1999) was an Australian musician (harmonica, clarinet), television compère, talent manager, music label founder and music arranger. As a member of Horrie Dargie Quintet he was awarded the first gold record in Australia for their LP record#RCA Victor, 10-inch live album, ''Horrie Dargie Concert'' (1952), which sold 75,000 copies. In the late 1950s and early 1960s he compèred TV variety programmes ''Personally Yours'' (1959), ''BP Super Show'' (1959–1962) and ''The Delo and Daly Show'' (1963–1964). Ossie Byrne
Oswald Russell "Ossie" Byrne (1926 – December 1983) was an Australian record producer, best known for producing the early recordings of The Bee Gees, including their first international hit, "New York Mining Disaster 1941". The youngest of nine children, he was born into a musical family in Queanbeyan, New South Wales. He learned to play cornet and trumpet in his youth and joined a Salvation Army band. He fought with the RAAF in World War II, being injured and losing an eye in New Guinea. After the war he played with local groups in Canberra and Sydney, as well as working as a finance officer, and in the mid-1950s he moved to Wollongong where he built a small recording studio in his house. ''The Don Lane Show'' was an Australian television talk show which aired twice a week on the Nine Network from 1975 to 1983. The show was created by Don Lane who co-hosted it with Bert Newton. Channel Nine was reluctant to cast Bert Newton, who had been associated with Graham Kennedy, but Lane insisted that he wanted Newton to do the show.
