Apology (act)
An apology is a voluntary expression of regret or remorse for actions, while apologizing (apologising in British English) is the act of expressing regret or remorse. In informal situations, it may be called saying sorry. The goal of an apology is generally forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration of the relationship between the people involved in a dispute. The nature of an apology involves at least two people where one has offended the other. Alternatively, it can involve two ''groups'' of people, one having previously offended the other. This is seen in the figure, with the Australian Government (an institution) apologizing for previous wrongs to the Indigenous (a large ethnic group). According to attribution theory, giving an apology as early as possible leads to less conflict during the discussion and increases communication satisfaction. The way the apology is given affects the outcome and the process of forgiveness. For example, putting genuine emotion into an apology ...

Apologies To The Queen Mary
''Apologies to the Queen Mary'' is the 2005 first full-length album by Canadian indie rock band Wolf Parade. Background Songwriting and vocals are split between guitarist Dan Boeckner and keyboardist Spencer Krug. According to interviews with the band, the album is named after an incident in which the band was removed from the ocean liner '' Queen Mary'' for breaking down the door of a ballroom and staging a violent séance. The song "Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts" refers to Pretas of Buddhist mythology. The "Hungry Ghosts" – beings who, because of actions in their past lives, are always hungry and thirsty, but cannot eat or drink – are used by Krug as a reference to his generation. The songs "Killing Armies" and "Modern World (Original)" were added to the iTunes Music Store release. ''Killing Armies'' is taken from the 2004 EP and ''Modern World (Original)'' is from the 2003 EP. The songs "Fancy Claps", "Same Ghost Every Night", and "This Heart's On Fire" w ...

Apology (horse)
Apology (1871–1888) was a British Thoroughbred racemare who was the third winner of the Fillies' Triple Crown, winning The Oaks, 1,000 Guineas Stakes and St. Leger Stakes in 1874. Apology was bred and owned by the Reverend John William King, the vicar of Ashby de la Launde, whose ownership of the mare caused a minor scandal in the Church of England after Apology won the St. Leger Stakes. King ultimately had to resign his clerical appointments due to the scandal and died shortly thereafter of a chronic illness. Apology raced until she was five years old, winning the Ascot Gold Cup in 1876. She was retired from racing at the end of 1876 to become a broodmare initially for the widow of John King, and then for Clare Vyner. Apology was euthanised in 1888 after an extended illness. Background Apology was bred by the Reverend John William King, who owned her during her racing career. Apologetics
Apologetics (from Greek ) is the religious discipline of defending religious doctrines through systematic argumentation and discourse. Early Christian writers (c. 120–220) who defended their beliefs against critics and recommended their faith to outsiders were called Christian apologists. In 21st-century usage, ''apologetics'' is often identified with debates over religion and theology. Etymology The term ''apologetics'' derives from the Ancient Greek word (). In the Classical Greek legal system, the prosecution delivered the (), the accusation or charge, and the defendant replied with an ', the defence.
