Apollyon Sun
Apollyon Sun was a Swiss industrial metal band formed by singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer and guitarist Erol Unala in early 1995, after the termination of Celtic Frost, Fischer's prior group. The group was unofficially dissolved in 2001 when Fischer invited Erol Unala to contribute to the reformation of Celtic Frost. Their name is taken from the Celtic Frost demo "Under Apollyon's Sun". History The band were first discovered in 1997 by London-based Sanctuary Music Management, on the strength of their ''Industry Demonstration'' EP. Subsequently managed by Rod Smallwood and Merck Mercuriadis, Apollyon Sun released a five-track debut mini-album - '' God Leaves (And Dies)'' on London's Mayan Records in summer of 1998 and then contributed "God Leaves" and "Relinquished Body" for the soundtrack of top-rated BBC TV show ''City Central''. ''Vanity/Nemesis'' is the fourth studio album by Swiss heavy metal band Celtic Frost, released on 11 April 1990 through Noise Records. Modern reviews see this album as a return-to-form compared to the band's previous album, '' Cold Lake'', but contemporary critics panned it. The band continued experimenting and evolving their music, this time fusing elements of traditional heavy metal, thrash metal and gothic rock. It has a different sound from the black/thrash metal of the first two albums, or the avant-garde metal of ''Into the Pandemonium'', although ''Vanity/Nemesis'' retains lyrical and musical elements from those releases. Probot was a heavy metal side project of ex-Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters rhythm guitarist and lead-singer Dave Grohl. Described by Grohl as "a death metal ''Supernatural''", the album mixes instrumentals recorded by Grohl himself with various metal singers whom the musician admired. The album was released in February 2004 by Southern Lord Records. It featured one single entitled "Centuries of Sin"/"The Emerald Law". David Eric Grohl (born January 14, 1969) is an American musician. He is the founder of the rock band Foo Fighters, in which he is the lead singer, guitarist, and principal songwriter. Prior to forming Foo Fighters, he was the drummer of grunge band Nirvana from 1990 to 1994. At 17, Grohl joined the punk rock band Scream after the departure of their drummer Kent Stax. HIM (sometimes stylized as H.I.M.) was a Finnish gothic rock band from Helsinki.
