Aparna Popat
Aparna Popat (born 18 January 1978) is a former Indian badminton player. She was India's national champion for a record equaling nine times when she won all the senior national championships between 1997 and 2006. Early life Aparna Popat was born on 18 January 1978 in Mumbai, Maharashtra into a Gujarati family of Lalji Popat and Heena Popat. She studied at the J. B. Petit High School in Mumbai and her Pre-university course from Mount Carmel College, in Bangalore. Aparna also holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the Mumbai University. Training background Aparna started playing badminton in 1986 in Mumbai. Arjuna Award
The Arjuna Award, officially known as Arjuna Awards for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games, is the second-highest sporting honour of India, the highest being the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The award is named after Arjuna, one of the characters of the Sanskrit epic ''Mahabharata'' of ancient India. He is the main protagonist of the epic. Tracey Jayne Hallam (born 24 March 1975) is a former English badminton player. Career Hallam played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In women's singles, she defeated Juliane Schenk of Germany and Camilla Martin of Denmark in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Hallam lost to Mia Audina of the Netherlands 11–0, 11–9. At the 1998 Commonwealth Games Hallam won the gold in the women's team event and bronze in the singles event. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games she won the gold in the mixed team event and silver in the singles event. She won gold in the women's singles at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Bolton Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena, located at Middlebrook on the boundary between Horwich and Lostock in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. It has a seating capacity of 6,000 people and hosts indoor sporting events. Kelly Ann Aston (, born 22 May 1975) is a Welsh badminton player. She has represented Wales and Great Britain in regional and international competitions, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, winning gold in the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and beat world number one Ye Zhaoying of China in the 1999 IBF World Championships.
