Anžej Dežan
Anžej Dežan (born 17 June 1987) is a Slovenian singer. Biography Anžej began his musical career by winning the TV show ''Karaoke'' only ten years old. His first major success though was in the 2005 talent show ''Spet Doma'' on RTV Slovenija, where he was the runner-up (beaten by Omar Naber, who got to represent Slovenia in Eurovision Song Contest 2005). His growing potential was recognised by the successful composers and lyricists Urša and Matjaž Vlašič and Boštjan Grabnar, who became Anžej's creative team. Together with them, Anžej published his first single ''C'est la vie'' which was one of the top singles of several Slovenian radio playlists. In February 2005, Anžej was a backing vocalist for Nuša Derenda at EMA, the Slovenian Eurovision preselection, while in May of the same year he entered the festival ''Melodije morja in sonca'' and cut his second single ''Vroče''. Šentjur
Šentjur ( or ; ) is a town in eastern Slovenia. It is the seat, and largest settlement, of the Municipality of Šentjur. The town lies on the Voglajna River east southeast of Celje. The settlement, and the entire municipality, are included in the Savinja Statistical Region, which is in the Slovenian portion of the historical Duchy of Styria. Name The name of the settlement was changed from ''Sveti Jurij pri Celju'' (literally, 'Saint George near Celje') to ''Šentjur pri Celju'' in 1952. The town was renamed again from ''Šentjur pri Celju'' to ''Šentjur'' in 1990. Slovenia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Stop", written by Omar Naber and Urša Vlašič, and performed by Naber himself. The Slovene participating broadcaster, (RTVSLO), organised the national final in order to select its entry for the contest. Fourteen entries competed in the national final where the winner was selected over two rounds of public televoting. In the first round, the top three entries were selected. In the second round, "Stop" performed by Omar Naber was selected as the winner. Slovenia competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 19 May 2005. Performing during the show in position 23, "Stop" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Alenka Gotar is a Slovene soprano singer, born in Rodica in 1977. With the song " Cvet z juga" ("Flower of the South"), she represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. Achieving seventh place in the semi-final, she became the first Slovene to qualify to the grand final, where she ended fifteenth with 66 points. Biography Alenka Gotar began her musical interest by attending a small music school where she learned piano and guitar. Afterwards, she attended music and ballet school in Ljubljana, where Markos Bajuk taught her solo singing. After graduating in 1996, she applied to study singing at the Musical Academy in Basel, Switzerland, and in 1999, she attended the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, where she was taught by Lilijan Sukis.
