Anæa
Anaea (or Anæa) () is an ancient city, former bishopric and present Latin Catholic titular see in Asia Minor. It gave its name to its modern location, Anya (Kadıkalesi) in the coastal village of Soğucak, Kuşadası, Soğucak situated to the south of Kuşadası in Aydın Province, Turkey. History From the Archaic period, Anaea was a mainland dependency of Samos. In times of Stasis (political history), stasis (civil strife) in Samos, the losing party would often flee to Anaea, from which they would eventually mount counter-attacks. After the defeat of the Mytilenean revolt, Revolt of Mytilene, when Alcidas was anchored at Ephesus, a deputation of Samians from Anaia came to him. A titular see in various churches is an episcopal see of a former diocese that no longer functions, sometimes called a "dead diocese". The ordinary or hierarch of such a see may be styled a "titular metropolitan" (highest rank), "titular archbishop" (intermediary rank) or " titular bishop" (lowest rank), which normally goes by the status conferred on the titular see. A suffragan bishop is a type of bishop in some Christian denominations. In the Catholic Church, a suffragan bishop leads a diocese within an ecclesiastical province other than the principal diocese, the metropolitan archdiocese; the diocese led by the suffragan is called a suffragan diocese. In the Anglican Communion, a suffragan bishop is a bishop who is subordinate to a metropolitan bishop or diocesan bishop (bishop ordinary) and so is not normally jurisdictional in their role. A coadjutor bishop (or bishop coadjutor) ("co-assister" in Latin) is a bishop in the Latin Catholic, Anglican and (historically) Eastern Orthodox churches whose main role is to assist the diocesan bishop in administering the diocese.
