Anxious (band)
Anxious is an American emo band from Fairfield, Connecticut. The band is currently signed to Run for Cover Records. The band released their debut album in 2022 titled Little Green House. The album was named Stereogum's "Album of the Week". The album received positive reviews. Anxious was founded in 2016 in Darien, Connecticut by vocalist/guitarist Grady Allen, vocalist/bassist Sam Walter and drummer Michelle Siegel. In 2017, Siegel left the group and was replaced by Dante Melucci. That same year, the band independently recorded and released their debut E.P. ''Carved''. In 2019, they recruited lead guitarist Ryan Savitsky and signed to Triple-B Records. That year, the group recorded and released two more E.P's, ''Promo 2019'' and ''Never Better''. Also that year, Grady Allen ceased playing guitar in the group. Melucci subsequently switched from drums to lead guitar/backing vocals, and Jonny Camner replaced him on drums/percussion. Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. It generally incorporates fast rhythms, melodic and often distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming. Nevertheless, the genre has been very diverse, with different bands showcasing very different styles. Emo Pop
Emo pop (also known as emo pop punk and pop-emo) is a fusion genre combining emo with the melodies of pop punk and/or pop music. Emo pop features a music style with more concise songs and hook-filled choruses. Emo pop began in the 1990s with bands like Jimmy Eat World, the Get Up Kids, Weezer and the Promise Ring. The genre became mainstream in the early 2000s with Jimmy Eat World's album '' Bleed American'', including the album's song " The Middle". Run for Cover Records is an American independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004 by Jeff Casazza at the age of 17 with a $1,000 loan, the label functioned as a small one-person bedroom operation in Brighton, until Casazza graduated Suffolk University in 2010.
