Anu Muhammad
Anu Muhammad Anisur Rahman, better known as Anu Muhammad ( bn, আনু মুহাম্মদ; born 1956), is a Bangladeshi economist, public intellectual, writer, editor, and political activist. He is the member-secretary of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports. Career Anu Muhammad is a professor at Jahangirnagar University where he has been teaching economics since 1982 and taught anthropology from 1991 to 2005. He was a visiting professor at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba in 2001 and worked at Columbia University as a visiting scholar in 1993. His research and written work focus on such areas as current economic and political problems in Bangladesh, political economy, globalisation, social transformation, gender issues, non-governmental organisations, environment, and energy. Jamalpur ( bn, জামালপুর জেলা, ''Jamalpur Jela'' also ''Jamalpur Zila'') is a district in Bangladesh, part of the Mymensingh Division. It was established in 1978. Nurul Kabir ( bn, নূরুল কবির) is a Bangladeshi journalist, writer, columnist, editor, and activist. He is the editor of the outspoken Bangladeshi newspaper, ''New Age'' and the editor of the Bengali weekly ''Budhbar''. Gopal Balakrishnan was a professor in the History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, until he was fired due to allegations of sexual assault. Balakrishnan studied European intellectual history and historical sociology at UCLA during the 1990s with Perry Anderson, Robert Brenner, Rogers Brubaker, and Michael Mann. Bertell Ollman (born April 30, 1935, in Milwaukee) is a professor of politics at New York University. He teaches both dialectical methodology and socialist theory.
