António Teixeira (composer)
António Teixeira (14 May 1707 – after 1769) was a Portuguese composer. Teixeira was born and died in Lisbon. He was a royal scholar in Rome from 1714 until 11 June 1728, when he was elected chaplain-singer of Lisbon Cathedral and examiner in plainchant for the Lisbon patriarchy. He wrote some festive cantatas for members of the aristocracy and also composed the music for two Portuguese operas by António José da Silva. José Mazza stated that Teixeira composed seven operas, which were performed by large puppets at the Teatro do Bairro Alto in Lisbon between 1733 and 1739. His surviving theatrical music shows him writing in the contemporary Italian style. His most important sacred work is a 20-voice '' Te Deum.'' António Teixeira Lopes
António Teixeira Lopes (27 October 1866–21 June 1942) was a Portuguese sculptor. Life Teixeira Lopes was the son of sculptor José Joaquim Teixeira Lopes and started learning his art in his father's workshop. In 1882 he entered the Academy of Fine Arts (''Escola de Belas Artes'') in Porto, where he continued his education with celebrated artists like sculptor António Soares dos Reis and painter João Marques de Oliveira. In 1885 he left for Paris, where he entered the École des Beaux-Arts and became a distinguished student. Around 1895, together with his brother, architect José Teixeira Lopes, he built his atelier in Vila Nova de Gaia, which nowadays houses a museum (the Casa-Museu Teixeira Lopes) dedicated to his work. He was professor of the School of Fine Arts of Porto for many years. António Teixeira de Sousa, 2nd Count of Sousa Palmela (; 5 May 1857 – 5 June 1917) was a Portuguese medical doctor and politician during the Constitutional Monarchy. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Porto, in 1883. A member of the conservative Regenerator Party, he was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies, in 1889. He was later minister of the Navy and Overseas (1900–1903), and, twice, of Finance (1903–1904, 1906).
