Antonio Garcia (American Football)
Antonio "Tony" Garcia (born December 10, 1993) is a gridiron football offensive tackle for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played college football for the Troy Trojans. After leaving an August 9, 2017, training camp practice early, Garcia did not return to practice and did not play in any preseason game. On September 2, Garcia was placed on the reserve/non-football illness (NFI) list. In March 2018 it was revealed that Garcia had developed blood clots in his lungs; the resulting inability to practice led his weight to drop by at least 40 pounds. Offensive Line
In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. A number of NFL rules specifically address restrictions and requirements for the offensive line, whose job is to help protect the quarterback from getting sacked for a loss, or worse, fumbling. Troy Trojans Football
The Troy Trojans football program represents Troy University at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level, where it has competed since 2001. The football program joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2004. The current head football coach is Jon Sumrall. Troy has won 22 conference championships, with seven in the Sun Belt Conference.
