Antonio Acín
Antonio Acín Dal Maschio is a Spanish theoretical physicist, currently an Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies, ICREA professor at ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences in Castelldefels, near Barcelona. Research interests Acín's primary research interest lies in quantum information theory, with a particular focus on Quantum entanglement, entanglement characterization and quantum nonlocality. He is also involved in developing quantum communication protocols, emphasizing quantum cryptography and randomness. Education Antonio Acín received his undergraduate education in both Telecommunication Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia from 1990 to 1997 and Physics at the University of Barcelona from 1993 to 1997. Quantum Nonlocality
In theoretical physics, quantum nonlocality refers to the phenomenon by which the measurement statistics of a multipartite quantum system do not allow an interpretation with local realism. Tsirelson's Bound
A Tsirelson bound is an upper limit to quantum mechanical correlations between distant events. Given that quantum mechanics violates Bell inequalities (i.e., it cannot be described by a local hidden-variable theory), a natural question to ask is how large can the violation be. The answer is precisely the Tsirelson bound for the particular Bell inequality in question. In general, this bound is lower than the bound that would be obtained if more general theories, only constrained by "no-signalling" (i.e., that they do not permit communication faster than light), were considered, and much research has been dedicated to the question of why this is the case. Paul Ehrenfest (; 18 January 1880 – 25 September 1933) was an Austrian Theoretical physics, theoretical physicist who made major contributions to statistical mechanics and its relation to quantum physics, quantum mechanics, including the theory of phase transition and the Ehrenfest theorem. He befriended Albert Einstein on a visit to Prague in 1912 and became a professor in Leiden, where he frequently hosted Einstein. Suffering from depression, in 1933 Ehrenfest killed his disabled son, Wassik, and then himself.
