Antoni Woryna
Antoni Woryna (born 15 February 1941 in Rybnik, Poland - died 14 December 2002) was an international motorcycle speedway rider who appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times, and was the first Polish rider to win a medal at that level when he won the bronze medal in 1966. He was a member of the Polish World Team Cup winning teams of 1965 and 1966. Rybnik
Rybnik (Polish pronunciation: ; szl, Rybńik) is a city in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, around 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Katowice, the region's capital, and around 19 km (11 miles) from the Czech border. 1970 Individual Speedway World Championship
The 1970 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 25th edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. Ivan Mauger became the first rider to win the title in three consecutive years, his five ride 15 point maximum took him to third in the all time list behind Ove Fundin and Barry Briggs. The Poles Paweł Waloszek and Antoni Woryna took silver and bronze respectively in their home nation at the Olympic Stadium. Marian Rose
Marian Rose (1933-1970) was an international Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Rose won a gold medal in the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1966 Speedway World Team Cup. He was killed in a race at the Stal Rzeszów Speedway Circuit on 19 April 1970, following a combination of hitting his head when falling off his bike and another rider crashing into him at the same time. The MotoArena Toruń in Poland is named after him. Andrzej Pogorzelski (12 October 1938 – 16 October 2020) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider and coach. Career He started his career in Unia Leszno and represented the club in 1956 and 1973-1976 seasons. While at Unia Leszno he won 2 bronze medals (1975, 1976) on Team Speedway Polish Championship. During the 1957-1961 seasons he rode in Start Gniezno and moved to Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski in winter 1962. While in Stal he won 1 gold (1969) and 5 silver (1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1971) medals in Team Speedway Polish Championship. During riding for Stal he held double record of the track in Gorzow Wielkopolski in seasons 1964 (76.4 sec - 18/10/1964) and 1969 (73.3 sec - 18/05/1969). Zbigniew Podlecki (19 January 1940 – 8 January 2009) was a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who won Team World Champion title in 1965. He was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. His career ended in 1972 when he had a road accident. He died in Gdańsk in January 2009. His team Wybrzeże Gdańsk named their stadium after him and it i snow called the Stadium Zbigniew Podlecki.
