Anton Moisescu
Anton Moisescu (12 February 1913 – 2002) was a Romanian politician who was the acting Chairman of the Presidium of the Grand National Assembly from 7 January 1958 until 11 January 1958, together with Mihail Sadoveanu, and thus interim head of state. Mihail Sadoveanu (; occasionally referred to as Mihai Sadoveanu; 5 November 1880 – 19 October 1961) was a Romanian novelist, short story writer, journalist and political figure, who twice served as acting President of Romania, head of state for the Communist Romania, communist republic (1947–1948 and 1958). Romanian Communist Party
The Romanian Communist Party ( ; PCR) was a communist party in Romania. The successor to the pro-Bolshevik wing of the Socialist Party of Romania, it gave an ideological endorsement to a communist revolution that would replace the social system of the Kingdom of Romania. After being outlawed in 1924, the PCR remained a minor and illegal grouping for much of the interwar period and submitted to direct Comintern control. During the 1920s and the 1930s, most of its activists were imprisoned or took refuge in the Soviet Union, which led to the creation of competing factions that sometimes came into open conflict.
