Anti-Money Laundering Authority
The Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), formally known as the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, is an agency of the European Union, established in 2024 in Frankfurt. AMLA's establishment has been characterized as "much-needed" by major EU political forces, and it has been described as transformational by a wide range of observers. It is expected to strengthen the policy framework to ensure the integrity of the EU financial system, as the central component of the EU's anti-money laundering efforts. Since January 2025, its chair is Bruna Szego. ABLV Bank
ABLV Bank was one of the largest private banks in the Baltic States, headquartered in Riga, Latvia with representative offices abroad from 1993 to 2018. Following accusations of money laundering by the United States Department of the Treasury and continued pressure from national regulatory agencies, on 26 February 2018 the ABLV board voted to start the process of voluntary liquidation. Danièle Nouy
Danièle Nouy is a French public servant who served as Chair of the Supervisory Board at the European Central Bank from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2018. She was regarded as the effective head of European Banking Supervision. Early life and education Nouy grew up in Brittany. She studied political science at Sciences Po and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Assas University. She came second at the nationwide Banque de France exam. Career Nouy worked at Banque de France from 1976 to 1996. She later served as secretary general of the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority from 9 March 2010 to 31 December 2013.
