Anthony Pappa
Anthony Pappa (born 15 November 1973) is an Australian DJ and electronic music producer from Melbourne. Early life Pappa was born in Italy but was raised in Melbourne, Australia where he attended Marcellin College. At the age of four he got his first drum which inspired him to become a producer later in life. Career Pappa started DJ career at the age of 13. He won Australia's DMC DJ championship at the age of 15, and by the age of 21 was playing for most prolific clubs. Womb is a nightclub in Tokyo, Japan that is featured in the film ''Babel (film), Babel''. History Womb opened in April 2000 with a Junior Vasquez party and is located at 2-16 Maruyama-cho Shibuya-ku. The main floor, with a giant Disco ball, mirror ball, is on the second floor of the premises, while a small bar is located at the rear of the dance floor. The main DJ booth overlooks the main floor and for select artists, the DJ booth is relocated onto the actual dance floor. In addition to the DJ booth, another bar, with open windows that look down onto the dance floor, also exists. On the fourth floor is another bar, a chill-out lounge and a DJ usually plays here as well. Offshore (song)
"Offshore" is a song by English electronic music producer Chicane, released on 9 December 1996 by Xtravaganza as the lead single from his debut album, '' Far from the Maddening Crowds'' (1997). The song reached number five in the United States on ''Billboard''s Dance Club Play chart, number 12 in Ireland and number 14 in the United Kingdom. A bootleg by Australian DJ Anthony Pappa was given an official release in 1997 titled "Offshore '97". This version peaked at number 17 in the UK. "Offshore" is a lush, multi-layered, early Trance track, the original of which features sweeping synth chords and a reflective balearic theme, elements of which are reminiscent of the Tangerine Dream track, "Love on a Real Train". The main synth-hook which gives "Offshore" its uplifting breakdown however is based on Don Henley's 1985 hit, " The Boys of Summer". A bootleg recording is an audio or video recording of a performance not officially released by the artist or under other legal authority. Making and distributing such recordings is known as ''bootlegging''. Recordings may be copied and traded among fans without financial exchange, but some bootleggers have sold recordings for profit, sometimes by adding professional-quality sound engineering and packaging to the raw material. Bootlegs usually consist of unreleased studio recordings, live performances or interviews without the quality control of official releases. Jan Johnston (born 13 October 1968, Salford, England) is an English professional singer & songwriter, best known for collaborating with some of the world's top trance music DJs and producers. Career In the early 1990s, she was signed to Columbia Records as part of the pop duo JJ (with fellow Mancunian Tony Kirkham), which gained some recognition while touring the UK with the #55 minor UK hit "If This Is Love", as well as "Slide Away". However, when the band project failed she continued as a solo artist, turning down the opportunity to sign to Deconstruction Records and instead signing to A&M Records. Nina Kraviz
Nina Kraviz () is a Russian DJ, music producer and singer. Early life and career Kraviz was born and raised in Irkutsk, Siberia, Russia. She moved to Moscow to study dentistry where she later gained her residency. Kraviz also worked in a number of roles in the early 2000s before she started her music career, including fixing " cosmonauts' teeth", hosting a local Irkutsk radio show, writing for a fanzine, and holding a club residency on Friday nights. In 2005, Kraviz was accepted into the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle, however couldn't attend as she couldn't obtain a visa, attending the following year in Melbourne instead. Global Underground is a British record label and compilation series founded in 1996 by Andy Horsfield and James Todd. Renaissance Recordings
Renaissance Music (formerly called Renaissance Recordings) is a British record label and live events promotion company, founded by the club Renaissance in 1994. It went into administration in September 2010 and the back catalogue was sold to Phoenix Music International Ltd. In July 2011, after a year of inactivity, it was announced that Renaissance had been reborn, with founder and original owner Geoff Oakes guiding the brand.
