Anthony Apodaca
Anthony A. Apodaca is Director of Graphics Research and Development at Pixar. He is co-creator of the RenderMan Interface Specification (RISpec). His film credits include almost all of the titles produced by Pixar. Awards In 1993, Apodaca, along with 6 others, received an Academy Awards, Academy Award in science and engineering for the development of Pixar RenderMan, RenderMan software. In 2013, he won the 13th Visual Effects Society Awards award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project for the 3D dark ride ''Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, RATATOUILLE: L’Aventure Totalement Torquee de Remy'' and received a nomination at the 2018 16th Visual Effects Society Awards for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project for ''Nemo & Friends SeaRider'', a simulator ride at Tokyo DisneySea. Pixar (), doing business as Pixar Animation Studios, is an American animation studio based in Emeryville, California, known for its critically and commercially successful computer-animated feature films. Pixar is a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, a division of Disney Entertainment, a segment of the Walt Disney Company. Pixar started in 1979 as part of the Lucasfilm computer division. It was known as the Graphics Group before its spin-off as a corporation in 1986, with funding from Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who became its majority shareholder.
