Anthonie van Borssom (2 January 1631 – 19 March 1677) was a Dutch Golden Age landscape painter. Biography According to the Netherlands Institute for Art History, he was an Italianate landscape painter who copied the works of popular landscape painters of his day in Amsterdam such as Jacob van Ruisdael, Paulus Potter, Aelbert Cuyp (church interiors), Nicolaes Berchem, Philips Koninck, Jan Wijnants, Aert van der Neer (moonlit landscapes), Marseus van Schrieck and Cornelis Vroom. He was probably a pupil of Rembrandt in the years 1645–1650. Van Borssom was born in Amsterdam, and lived and worked in the city as an adult. Dr Anthonie Johannes Theodorus Janse, also known as Antonius Johannes Theodorus Janse and by other orthographic variations (19 April 1877 – 12 June 1970), was a pioneer of South African entomology who specialised in Lepidoptera. His multi-volumed work, ''The Moths of South Africa'' is recognized as a definitive text. Life and career Janse was born in the Hague, Netherlands in 1877 to Antonie Johannes Janse and his wife Willemina Broekhuisen. Anthonie van der Heim (28 November 1693, in The Hague – 17 July 1746, in 's-Hertogenbosch) was Grand Pensionary of Holland from 4 April 1737 to 17 July 1746. Biography Van der Heim was the son of Anthonie Gerritsz van der Heim, councillor in the Supreme Court, and Catharina Heinsius. His uncle was Grand Pensionary Anthonie Heinsius. From 1709, he studied law in Leiden, where he obtained his doctorate in 1711. On 28 December of that year, he defended his dissertation ''Disputatio juridica inauguralis ad Leg. 18C de transactionibus''. In 1710, Van der Heim began his career as secretary of the ''Generaliteitsrekenkamer'' (Financial audit institution). In this position, his talent for finance became apparent. Anthonie Heinsius
Anthonie Heinsius (23 November 1641 – 3 August 1720) was a Dutch statesman who served as Grand Pensionary of Holland from 1689 to his death in 1720. Heinsius was an able negotiator and one of the greatest and most obstinate opponents of the expansionist policies of Louis XIV of France. He was one of the driving forces behind the anti-French coalitions of the Nine Years' War (1688–97) and the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–14). Even during the life of King William III, he was seen as the preeminent statesman in Europe outside of France. After the death of William III in 1702, Heinsius' hold on the Dutch States General diminished, but he remained Grand Pensionary of Holland, and replaced William as the main policy maker in the field of foreign affairs of the Dutch Republic. Anthonie Duyck (c. 1560 – 13 September 1629) was Grand Pensionary of Holland between 1621 and 1629. Life Anthonie Duyck was a descendant of a notable hollandic family which was founded in the 13th century. Anthonie was the son of Gijsbert Duyck, lord of Oud Karspel, who was appointed schout of Hoorn in 1580. Anthonie was born in The Hague and studied law in Leiden. Anthony van Diemen (also ''Antonie'', ''Antonio'', ''Anton'', ''Antonius''; 1593 – 19 April 1645) was a Dutch colonial governor.
