Anthology (Rough Cutt Album)
Anthology is a collection of previously unreleased Rough Cutt material. The Fiddler's Studio Sessions were recorded before the band's first album was recorded. An earlier version of "Try a Little Harder", with Craig Goldy on guitar, was released on the ''KLOS 95 1/2: Rock to Riches'' compilation in 1983. The song "Prowler" was re-recorded for inclusion on ''Rough Cutt Live'' as one of 3 studio bonus tracks. "Dreamin' Again", "Try a Little Harder", "Crank It Up" and "Street Gang Livin'" were all performed live on the 'Rock Palace' TV show, taped on January 1, 1984, at the Hollywood Palace, now the Avalon Hollywood. Rough Cutt
Rough Cutt is an American glam metal band from Los Angeles that released two studio albums on Warner Bros. Records in the mid-1980s. Rough Cutt never achieved the commercial success enjoyed by many other Los Angeles bands of that time, but various members went on to find success in other groups, including Jake E. Lee with Ozzy Osbourne, Amir Derakh with Orgy and Julien-K, Paul Shortino with Quiet Riot, and Craig Goldy and Claude Schnell with Dio. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Craig Goldy
Thomas "Craig" Goldy (born November 6, 1961) is an American musician, best known as the guitarist of the rock bands Dio (band), Dio and Giuffria. Early musical life Goldy was born in San Diego, California. Before Dio, he played in the bands Vengeance, Rough Cutt, and Giuffria. He replaced Jake E. Lee in Rough Cutt and was himself replaced by Amir Derakh. While with Rough Cutt, Goldy played on demos produced by Ronnie James Dio. Career Giuffria Shortly after leaving Rough Cutt, Goldy would join Giuffria, the eponymous band of former Angel (American band), Angel keyboardist, Gregg Giuffria. Performing on Giuffria's Giuffria (album), self-titled debut album, released in 1984, Goldy is heard on the band's biggest hit, "Call to the Heart," which hit #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard charts in early 1985. Paul Shortino (born May 14, 1953) is an American rock singer and musician who has sung for Rough Cutt/The Cutt, Quiet Riot, Bad Boyz, and Shortino. He briefly recorded with J.K. Northrup as the duo, Shortino/Northrup. He has also recorded as a solo artist, writing and performing the song "E.G.G.M.A.N." as the theme for Dr. Eggman in ''Sonic Adventure 2'' for Sega, and in ''Shadow the Hedgehog'' as "E.G.G.M.A.N. Doc Robeatnix Mix". Shortino recorded lead vocals for the Heavy Metal benefit project Hear 'n Aid in 1985. The single from this project, "Stars", also features lead vocals by heavy metal singers Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Don Dokken, Kevin DuBrow, Eric Bloom and Dave Meniketti. Amir Davidson, professionally known as Amir Derakh, is an American musician and record producer. He is currently the guitarist and the synthesizer player for the band Julien-K, and was the guitarist for the band Dead by Sunrise. He was the g-synth player in the rock band Orgy, and has also played guitar in the bands Rough Cutt and Jailhouse. Career After graduating in 1981 from Mission Bay High School in San Diego, California, Derakh played lead guitar for local bands Armed & Ready and Emerald.
