It is an up-tempo rock song about a dilemma between settling down or trying to become a rock star. The track was written by Adams and his longtime songwriting collaborator Jim Vallance. "Summer of '69" was produced by Adams and Bob Clearmountain. "Summer of '69" was released in June 1985 under A&M Records as the fourth single from ''Reckless''. According to later claims by Adams, the title is a reference to 69 (sex position), the sex position, not the year; Vallance disputes this assertion, however. The song was released with two B-side tracks: "Kids Wanna Rock" and "The Best Was Yet to Come", which had previously appeared on the albums ''Reckless (Bryan Adams album), Reckless'' and ''Cuts Like a Knife'' respectively. Somebody (Bryan Adams Song)
"Somebody" is a rock song written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance for Adams fourth studio album '' Reckless'' (1984). It was the second single released from the album ''Reckless''. The song topped the ''Billboard'' Top Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number 11 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Critical reception Stewart Mason from Allmusic said "Following the Big Rawk Anthem (' Run to You') and the Sensitive Power Ballad ('Heaven'), 'Somebody' covers the third base as a straight-ahead singalong pop song with a killer chorus. A gift to an entire generation of cover bands working the bar circuit, 'Somebody' has a chorus so simple and catchy that you can actually sing along to it even if you've never actually heard the song before, and Adams and his indispensable musical partner, Jim Vallance, helpfully point out the feasibility of said activity by incorporating a large, somewhat ragged group of backing vocalists for the lengthy vamp of a fadeout. Rather like 'Run to You,' 'Somebody' is ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

I think that's where Jim is really good -- he can piece a story together. It's just a good thing to have the tape rolling when you're recording me. The best example was when we wrote "Cuts Like A Knife," which was just literally a mumble. We looked at each other, rolled the tape back, and it sounded like " ...
