Antareen
''Antareen'' (The Confined) is a 1993 Indian film in Bengali language, directed by Mrinal Sen, based on a story named ''Badshahat Ka Khatimah'' (1950) by Saadat Hasan Manto (but with a different ending in the screenplay). It stars Anjan Dutt and Dimple Kapadia. ''Antareen'' was the first non-Hindi project Kapadia took part in since '' Vikram'' (1986). She played a woman caught in a loveless marriage. Insisting on playing her part spontaneously, Kapadia refused to enroll in a crash-course in Bengali as she wrongly felt that she would be able to speak it convincingly. Her voice was eventually dubbed by actor Anushua Chatterjee, something Kapadia was unhappy with. Dimple Kapadia
Dimple Kapadia (born 8 June 1957) is an Indian actress predominantly appearing in Hindi films. Born and raised in Mumbai by wealthy parents, she aspired to become an actress from a young age and received her first opportunity through her father's efforts to launch her in the film industry. She was discovered at age 14 by the filmmaker Raj Kapoor, who cast her in the title role of his teen romance '' Bobby'' (1973), which opened to major commercial success and gained her wide public recognition. Shortly before the film's release in 1973, she married the actor Rajesh Khanna and quit acting. Kapadia returned to films in 1984, two years after her separation from Khanna. Her comeback film '' Saagar'', which was released a year later, revived her career. Both ''Bobby'' and ''Saagar'' won her Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Mrinal Sen
Mrinal Sen (''Beng.'' মৃণাল সেন; 14 May 1923 – 30 December 2018) was an Indian film director, and screenwriter known for his work primarily in Bengali, and few Hindi and Telugu language films. Regarded as one of the finest Indian filmmakers, along with his contemporaries Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, and Tapan Sinha, Sen played major role in the New Wave cinema of eastern India. Sen has received various national and international honors including eighteen Indian National Film Awards. The Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan, and the Government of France honored him with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, while Russian Government honored him with the Order of Friendship. Sen was also awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award for filmmakers in India. Anjan Dutt (Bengali: অঞ্জন দত্ত) is an Indian film director, actor, and singer-songwriter known for his work in the Bengali alternative music genre ''anyodharar gaan''. As an actor, Dutt began his career in Bengali cinema in the Mrinal Sen film ''Chalachitro'', for which he won the best newcomer actor award at the Venice Film Festival. He acted in Aparna Sen's hit film, ''Mr. and Mrs. Iyer''. In 2018 he featured in Swapnasandhani's new play ''Taraye Taraye'', as Vincent van Gogh, under the direction of Kaushik Sen.
