Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple
Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple (transliterated from Hebrew as "People of Loving Kindness"), commonly called the Fairmount Temple, was a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at 23737 Fairmount Boulevard, in Beachwood, Ohio, in the United States. The congregation was the oldest Jewish congregation in the Cleveland area through mid-2024. The congregation's membership exceeded 2,000 families in the mid-1990s. The synagogue was a member of the Union for Reform Judaism. On 1 July 2024, Fairmount Temple merged with Temple Tifereth-Israel to create a new Reform congregation, Mishkan Or. Progressive Field
Progressive Field is a baseball stadium in the downtown area of Cleveland, Ohio. It is the ballpark of the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball and, together with Rocket Arena, is part of the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex. It was ranked as MLB's best ballpark in a 2008 ''Sports Illustrated'' fan opinion poll. The ballpark opened as Jacobs Field in 1994 to replace Cleveland Stadium, which the Guardians, then known as the Indians, had shared with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. David Mark Berger
David Mark Berger (; May 24, 1944 – September 6, 1972) was an American and Israeli Olympic weightlifter, and one of the 11 Israeli Olympians taken hostage and killed by the Palestinian group Black September during the Munich massacre at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Born and raised in the United States, Berger was a lawyer by education and had emigrated to Israel after taking part in the 1969 Maccabiah Games, where he won a gold medal. Arthur Lelyveld
Rabbi Arthur J. Lelyveld (February 6, 1913 – April 15, 1996) was a rabbi within the movement of Reform Judaism and activist. Early life and education Lelyveld was born in Manhattan on Feb. 6, 1913. He graduated from Columbia College in 1933. At Columbia, he was the first Jewish editor of the ''Columbia Daily Spectator'', leader of the glee club, and competed on the wrestling team. In 1939, he graduated from the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio. Career After marrying Toby Bookholtz, an actress and scholar of Shakespeare, Lelyveld moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1941, where he led Temple Israel.
