Annemarie Spilker
Annemarie Spilker (born 1980, Hillegom) is a Dutch photographer best known for her self-portraits and landscapes. Spilker attended The Photography Academy in Amsterdam where she graduated cum laude in 2003, with the series self-portraits "Searching to fill the emptiness..." Spilker's photography focuses on penetrating self-portraits with an uncomfortable and confronting atmosphere, in which she searched for the hidden places in her own personality. Her landscapes appear almost unreal due to the unprecedented silence and timelessness. Since college, Spilker has worked mainly with a medium format Hasselblad, the reason most of her images are square. Sometimes she works with antique medium format cameras from around 1930–1940. Hillegom
Hillegom () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Hillegom is part of an area called the Duin- en Bollenstreek ("Dune and Bulb Region"). As such, a large portion of the local economy was traditionally geared to the cultivation of bulb flowers. The name Hillegom is derived from the abbey named ''Hijlighem'' ( Old Frankish for "Holy Home"). This abbey no longer exists. The current Lord of Hillegom is Jan Six X. History Hillegom was formed on the eastern edge of the coastal dunes where the old Leiden to Haarlem route crossed the ''Hillegommerbeek'' (Hillegom's Creek), not far from the shores of the ''Haarlemmermeer'' (Haarlem's Lake). Places with the suffix "-heim" (or variant spellings) usually developed before the year 1000 and therefore it is assumed that this may apply to Hillegom as well. Victor Hasselblad AB is a Swedish manufacturer of medium format cameras, photographic equipment and image scanners based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The company originally became known for its classic analog medium-format cameras that used a waist-level viewfinder. The Duin- en Bollenstreek (; Dutch for "Dune and Bulb Region") is a region in the Western Netherlands, that features coastal dunes and the cultivation of flower bulbs. Situated at the heart of historical Holland nearby the city of Leiden, South Holland, it is bordered by The Hague to the west and Haarlem to the north. The combination of beaches, flower fields, lakes and history makes this area attractive to tourists. Composition and name The Dune and Bulb Region stretches from the area around the lower reaches of the Old Rhine west of Leiden to just south of Haarlem. Bergschenhoek
270px, Town sign Bergschenhoek () is a town and former municipality in the municipality of Lansingerland, in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is situated roughly 10 km to the north of Rotterdam. The town had a population of 18,475 in 2019, and covered an area of 15.52 km² (5.99 mile²) of which 0.63 km² (0.24 mile²) is water. On 1 January 2007, the town was merged with neighbouring towns Berkel en Rodenrijs and Bleiswijk to form the new municipality Lansingerland; these three towns collectively are known locally as the "3B Hoek". The Lucie Awards is an annual event honoring achievements in photography, founded in 2003 by Hossein Farmani. Artmajeur is an online art gallery based in Montpellier, France and founded in 2000. It allows artists to present original paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographies, and prints. History Artmajeur was founded in 2000 by Samuel Charmetant and Yann Sarazin, then computer sciences students in University of Montpellier.
