Anne Barzin
Anne C.S.M. Barzin (born 18 August 1975) is a Belgian politician. She was a representative in the Chamber of Representatives from 1999 to 2007, a member of the Parliament of Wallonia from 2007 to 2014 and a Senator in the Senate of Belgium from 2014 to 2019. She was a member of the Liberal Reformist Party and the Reformist Movement. Early life Barzin was born on 18 August 1975 in Namur. She is the daughter of Senator . She received a law degree from the Catholic University of Leuven in 1998 and began work as an assistant in public law at the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (FUNDP) until 2000. Senate (Belgium)
The Senate ( ; ; ) is one of the two chambers of the bicameral Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Chamber of Representatives. It is considered to be the "upper house" of the Federal Parliament. Created in 1831 as a chamber fully equal to the Chamber of Representatives, the Senate has undergone several reforms in the past, most notably in 1993 and 2014. The 2014 elections were the first without a direct election of senators. Instead, the new Senate is composed of members of community and regional parliaments and co-opted members. Maxime Patrick Robert Albert Prévot (; born 9 April 1978) is a Belgian politician of the party who has been serving as a Deputy Prime Minister and as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation in the De Wever Government since february 2025. He previously served as the mayor of Namur from 2012 to 2025. Biography Prévot was born in Mons in 1978 to a middle-class family. He spent part of his upbringing in Luxembourg. Prévot studied political science at the University of Namur and then completed a law conversion course at UCLouvain before working for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
