Anne-Marie Marchand (27 May 1927 – 1 August 2005) was a French people, French costume designer, daughter of the author Vladimir_Pozner_(writer), Vladimir Pozner. She was nominated for the Academy Awards, Academy Award for Academy Award for Best Costume Design, Best Costume Design for her work in the film ''The Return of Martin Guerre'' (1982). Vladimir Pozner (writer)
Vladimir Solomonovich Pozner (; 5 January 1905 in Paris – 19 February 1992 in Paris) was a French writer and translator of Russian-Jewish descent. His family fled the pogroms to take up residence in France. Pozner expanded on his inherited cultural socialism to associate both in writing and politics with anti-fascist and communist groups in the inter-war period. His writing was important because he made friends with internationally renowned exponents of hardline communism, while rejecting Soviet oppression. Youth Born in Paris, to Russian-Jewish parents in 1905, after the first failed Bolshevik revolution, his father, Solomon Pozner, was a historian and an active emancipationist. The Academy Award for Best Costume Design is one of the Academy Awards presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for achievement in film costume design. The award was first given in 1949, for films made in 1948. Initially, separate award categories were established for black-and-white films and color films. Since the merger of the two categories in 1967, the Academy has traditionally avoided giving out the award to films with a contemporary setting.
