Anna M. Gade
Anna M. Gade is an American scholar of Islam, religion and ethics, Southeast Asia and environmental studies. She is Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor in the Gaylord Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she teaches courses in Environmental Humanities, Islamic Studies, and the academic study of religion and ethics in the Religious Studies Program. Her influential book''Muslim Environmentalisms''(2019), has defined Islamic environmental studies across multiple fields, including environmental humanities. Her current academic work focuses in the comparative field of environmental ethics, along with ongoing research programs on climate and sustainability issues in the Global South. Richard Foltz is a Canadian historian who specializes in the history of Iranian civilization — sometimes referred to as " Greater Iran". He has also been active in the areas of environmental ethics and animal rights. Biography Foltz is a full professor in the Department of Religions and Cultures at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, and an affiliate professor at the Centre d'études du religieux contemporain, Université de Sherbrooke. Kecia Ali (born 1972) is an American scholar of Islam who focuses on the study of Islamic jurisprudence, ethics, women and gender, and biography. She is currently a professor of religion at Boston University. She previously worked with Brandeis University's Feminist Sexual Ethics Project, presided over the Society for the Study of Muslim Ethics and was a research associate and postdoctoral fellow at Brandeis University and Harvard Divinity School.
