Anna Behle
Anna Charlotta Behle (9 August 1876 – 2 October 1966) was a Swedish dancer and teacher of rhythmic gymnastics and solfège. Biography Behle was born in Stockholm in 1876 to unwed parents, and was adopted, along with her brother August, by the Granbäck family, who ensured that she had a full education. She received her degree as an organist from composer in 1896. In 1898 she enrolled at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she took courses in solo singing for five semesters and then spent time in France, where she changed her surname from Granbäck to Behle. Considered a pioneer of modern dance in Sweden, she first became interested in the art after watching Isadora Duncan perform. Back in Sweden, on 1 May 1906, she went with a friend, Louise Wikström, to the on Karlavägen in Stockholm to see guest Isadora Duncan. ''Svensk uppslagsbok'' is a Swedish encyclopedia published between 1929 and 1955, in two editions. First edition The first edition was started in 1929 by ''Baltiska förlaget AB'', but publishing was taken over by ''Svensk uppslagsbok AB'' in 1931. This edition consisted of 30 volumes and one supplement volume, and was completed in 1937. The articles in ''Svensk uppslagsbok'' were written by subject matter experts and signed. On the market, it competed with '' Nordisk familjebok'' in its third, condensed edition (1923–1937), and it aimed at being affordable for a large audience. Second edition A second, completely revised edition was published between 1947 and 1955, and consisted of 32 volumes. Gripsholm Castle
Gripsholm Castle ( sv, Gripsholms slott) is a castle in Mariefred, Södermanland, Sweden. It is located by lake Mälaren in south central Sweden, in the municipality of Strängnäs, about 60 km west of Stockholm. Since Gustav Vasa, Gripsholm has belonged to the Swedish Royal Family and was used as one of their residences until the 18th century. It is now a museum, but is still considered to be a palace at the disposal of the King and as such it is part of the Crown palaces in Sweden. Maj Bring
Ebba Maria Bring, better known as Maj (Uppsala, 29 August 1880 – Stockholm, 5 December 1971) was a Swedish painter and model. She was the daughter of Sven Casper Bring. Bring was educated at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, and she's represented in the collection of the Moderna Museet there with eleven works, seven paintings and four drawings. Her portrait of Anna Behle is in the portrait collection of Gripsholm Castle. She is the subject of several portraits in the Nationalmuseum collection, by Maja Braathen, Berta Hansson, Ninnan Santesson, and Carl Wilhelmson; the museum also owns her portrait of Johan Ramstedt. Nya Idun
Nya Idun is a Swedish cultural association for women founded in 1885, originally as a female counterpart to Sällskapet Idun ('the Idun Society'). Its aim was to "gather educated women in the Stockholm area for informal gatherings". There was also an early 20th-century women's journal of the same name. Activity Nya Idun was founded on 7 February 1885 in the premises of the at Jakobsbergsgatan 11 in Stockholm. Its founders were Calla Curman, Hanna Winge, Ellen Fries, Ellen Key and Amelie Wikström.
