Anna Ascani
Anna Ascani (born 17 October 1987) is an Italian politician. Biography Ascani obtained a Bachelor in Philosophy in 2009 at the University of Perugia, and a master's degree at the University of Trento in 2012. Since 2016 she is enrolled in the PhD programme in Politics at the LUISS University. In 2006, at the age of 18, Ascani ran for a seat in the city council of her birth town Città di Castello in Umbria. The following year, with the birth of the Democratic Party and the 2007 primaries, she supported Enrico Letta. Political career At the 2013 general election, Ascani was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. That same year, during the 2013 primaries, she supported Matteo Renzi, later elected Secretary. 2013 Italian General Election
The 2013 Italian general election was held on 24 and 25 February 2013 to determine the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 17th Italian Parliament. The centre-left alliance Italy Common Good, led by the Democratic Party (PD), obtained a clear majority of seats in the Chamber of Deputies thanks to a majority bonus that effectively trebled the number of seats assigned to the winning force and narrowly defeated the centre-right alliance of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in the popular vote. ''la Repubblica'' (; the Republic) is an Italian daily general-interest newspaper. It was founded in 1976 in Rome by Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso (now known as GEDI Gruppo Editoriale) and led by Eugenio Scalfari, Carlo Caracciolo and Arnoldo Mondadori Editore. Roberto Giachetti
Roberto Giachetti (born 24 April 1961) is an Italian politician, member of Italia Viva and of the Transnational Radical Party. He has been a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies since 2001. Biography Roberto Giachetti was born in Rome in 1961. As a student, he was an activist of center-left libertarian Radical Party (PR), and worked with Radio Radicale. When the Radical Party was dissolved, Giachetti joined the Italian Greens and was elected a district councillor in Rome. 2019 Democratic Party (Italy) Leadership Election
The 2019 Democratic Party leadership election was an open primary election held on 3 March 2019. The election was triggered by the resignation of Matteo Renzi on 12 March 2018, following the party's defeat at the 2018 general election. Vice Secretary Maurizio Martina was appointed Secretary in July 2018 by the National Assembly, but he resigned after few months to officially start the party's congress. Six candidates were successfully nominated to stand in the Club's Conventions, held in January: Nicola Zingaretti, Maurizio Martina, Roberto Giachetti, Francesco Boccia, Dario Corallo and Maria Saladino. The 2018 Italian general election was held on 4 March 2018 after the Italian Parliament was dissolved by President Sergio Mattarella on 28 December 2017. Voters were electing the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 18th legislature of the Italian Republic since 1948. The election took place concurrently with the Lombard and Lazio regional elections.
