Ann Roe
Ann Spellman Roe ( Spellman; born 1966) is an American educator, small business owner, and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician from Janesville, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 44th Assembly district since 107th Wisconsin Legislature, 2025. She previously ran for U.S. House of Representatives in 2022. Biography Ann Roe was born Ann Spellman in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised and educated in the Chicago area, graduating from Evanston Township High School in 1984. She went on to attend Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, earning her bachelor's degree in English and classical languages in 1988. She worked for some time in Minnesota, before continuing her education at Northeastern University, where she obtained her Master of Business Administration, M.B.A. in 1994. Wisconsin's 44th Assembly District
The 44th Assembly district of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southern Wisconsin, the district comprises areas of central Rock County, including most of the city of Janesville and the neighboring village of Footville. It contains the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater at Rock County campus, the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport, and the main campus of Blackhawk Technical College. The district is represented by Democrat Ann Roe, since January 2025. The 44th Assembly district is located within Wisconsin's 15th Senate district, along with the 43rd and 45th Assembly districts. 2020 United States Census
The 2020 United States census was the 24th decennial United States census. Census Day, the reference day used for the census, was April1, 2020. Other than a pilot study during the 2000 census, this was the first U.S. census to offer options to respond online or by phone, in addition to the paper response form used for previous censuses. The census was taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected its administration. Timothy Francis Cullen (February 25, 1944 – December 23, 2024) was an American Democratic politician from Janesville, Wisconsin. He was the majority leader of the Wisconsin Senate from 1982 to 1987; he served a total of 16 years in the state Senate, representing Wisconsin's 15th Senate district from 1975 to 1987, then again from 2011 to 2015. He also served two years as secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services (1987–1988) in the administration of Republican governor Tommy Thompson. Debra Ann "Deb" Kolste (''née'' Babl; born June 20, 1953) is an American business owner and politician. A Democrat, she was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2013 to 2021, representing the Janesville-based 44th assembly district. Early life and career Debra Kolste was born in the small city of O'Neill, Nebraska. She was co-valedictorian on her graduation from Kimball County High School. She went on to study at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and received her bachelor's degree in medical technology in 1975. She and her husband, Rex, a medical doctor, moved to Colby, Kansas, where they started a medical clinic. In 1984, they purchased a grain farm in Colby, which Kolste still owns and operates.
