Ann Jansson (racewalker)
Ann Jansson (born 1 July 1958) is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. Career She represented her country at the World Championships in Athletics, IAAF World Indoor Championships and six times at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup. She was a medallist at the European Athletics Championships in 1986. She was a pioneer in the early period of international women's walking and broke several European records. Her 10 kilometres race walk time of 47:58.2 minutes in 1981 was the first ever ratified by the European Athletics Association and she improved this to 47:49.3 the following year, and twice more to 46:14.3 in 1985 and 46:13.2 in 1986. Her record was beaten that same year by Soviet walker Aleksandra Grigoryeva. Her 20 kilometres race walk time of 1:36:37 in 1985 was the best ever recorded by a European woman, though the woman's event was not an officially recognised one at that point. 3000 Metres Race Walk
The 3000 metres race walk is a racewalking event. The event is competed as a track race. It was a part of the athletics programme for women at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics until 1993. In this event, athletes must always keep in contact with the ground and the supporting leg must remain straight until the raised leg passes it. 3000 meters is 1.86 miles. The imperial equivalent of the 3000 m walk is the 2 miles race walk, which was contested at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships until 1987. The distance has also been contested at racewalking events in Moscow. World records IAAF just ratified world records for women's indoor marks. Siv Gustavsson (born 9 July 1957) is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was the gold medallist at the 1981 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, making her the second ever female world champion in the sport. Gustavsson also won a bronze at the 1986 European Athletics Championships – the first year women's walks were held at that event. She won fifteen Swedish national titles from 1976 to 2004 over distance from 3000 m to 20 km. Britt Holmquist
Britt Holmquist is a Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was twice a competitor at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and was the bronze medallist in the first ever women's race in 1975. She was part of a Swedish medal sweep alongside Margareta Simu and Siv Gustavsson. While both Simu and Gustavsson returned to the podium at the 1977 edition, Holmquist fell back to fifth behind British opposition. Nationally, she won twice at the Swedish Athletics Championships, taking the 3000 metres race walk titles in 1974 and 1980. She also competed at the AAA Championships in 1980, taking third place in the 5000 m walk behind Britain's Irene Bateman and Swedish compatriot Gustavsson.
