Ankeny Christian Academy
Ankeny Christian Academy (ACA) is a private school, private Christian school located in Ankeny, Iowa, Ankeny, Polk County, Iowa. It is an independent, non-denominational school serving students from preschool through 12th grade. The school is accredited by the state of Iow History ACA began in February 1992. In August 1993, meeting in a church, ACA opened with 27 students and 3 teachers in grades kindergarten through 6. For the next seven years the school rented rooms in several churches and a remodeled warehouse office building. In the spring of 2000 it purchased property at 1604 West 1st St. as its permanent location. ACA added secondary grades in the fall of 1996. The first senior class graduated in 2000. Bluegrass Conference (Iowa)
The Bluegrass Conference is a high school sports league in Iowa. Located in South-central Iowa, the conference is home to some of the smallest schools in the state, including the smallest public schools in Iowa, Diagonal. Members History The conference originated before 1960. Some of the members in the early days included Osceola, Bedford, Mount Ayr, Lamoni, Seymour, Corydon, and Leon. Lenox and Mormon Trail of Humeston joined the conference in 1960, as Osceola departed. In 1962, four schools left the conference to join the newly formed Tall Corn Conference. This left the conference with Lamoni, Leon, Mormon Trail, Corydon, Seymour, and Moravia.
