Anjan Bandyopadhyay
Anjan Bandyopadhyay or Anjan Banerjee (24 August 1965 – 16 May 2021) was an Indian Bengali journalist who worked for various news and media channels such as ''Anandabazar Patrika'', ''ETV Bangla'', ''Akash Bangla'', ''Zee 24 Ghanta'', '' TV9 Bangla''. He was the younger brother of Alapan Bandyopadhyay, the Chief Secretary of West Bengal. Early life and education Anjan Bandyopadhyay completed his bachelor's and master's degree in Bengali literature from Presidency College, Kolkata. He passed secondary exam from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur in 1981. He had a journalistic career spanning over 33 years. In the beginning of the career he worked for news media and channels like ''Anandabazar Patrika'', ''ETV Bangla'', ''Akash Bangla'' & ''Zee 24 Ghanta'' etc. In 2015 he resigned from ''Zee 24 Ghanta'' and joined ''Anandabazar Patrika'' (Digital). Alapan Bandyopadhyay
Alapan Bandyopadhyay (born 17 May 1961) is an ex-Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and former Chief Secretary of State for the Government of West Bengal. He is Chief Advisor for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee since 1 June 2021. He took over from IAS officer Rajiva Sinha, in the year 2020, starting his tenure as Chief Secretary of West Bengal. Career Alapan was an officer of IAS batch-1987 from West Bengal. He was earlier a district magistrate of Howrah, North and South 24 Parganas districts. He had also served as Chief Executive Officer, Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority and Kolkata Municipal Commissioner. He has also headed several departments — transport, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), commerce and industry, information and culture, and home — as principal secretary.
