Anita Sarawak
Ithnaini binti Mohamed Taib (born 23 March 1952), better known by her stage name Anita Sarawak, is a Singaporean singer. Early years Anita is the only child of actor and director S. Roomai Noor and actress Siput Sarawak. Her parents separated when she was 9 months old and Anita lived with her father. When Anita was around 12 years old, she went to live with her mother Siput and started preparation for her acting career. Career At 14, Anita acted in her first film, ''Dua Kali Lima''. At 15, Anita started performing at weddings and other functions. Anita first came to prominence at the age of 17, when she released her debut album ''With A Lot O’ Soul''. In 1974, she released her first Malay album. Throughout the 1970s, Anita actively promoted Singapore as a tourist destination through her performances. Broery Pesulima
Simon Dominggus "Broery" Pesulima (25 June 1948 – 7 April 2000) was an Indonesian singer and actor. Early life During his career he also used the name Broery Marantika taken from his mother's family name. He was raised by the family of his mother's uncle, Simon Marantika. His father named Gijsberth Pesulima while her mother called Wilmintje Marantika. Broery had three brothers, namely Henky, Freejohn and Helmi. Since young age Broery is a member of the church choir in Ambon. In 1964 he won the singing contest held by Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) in Ambon. A year after he moved to Cinere, Jakarta and started his career as a professional singer with Remy Leimena. Helmi Pesulima was a known singer. Broery made the first album recorded in 1968–1969. The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. Astro Ria
Astro Ria is a 24-hour Southeast Asian Malay language television channel exclusive to the Astro satellite television provider. It was one of the first 22 channels to be launched on Astro in 1996. Astro Ria offered mainly dramas & reality shows but also offered little informational content. It's HD counterpart was launched on 29 May 2015. The Mandarins (group)
Matthew and the Mandarins are a country music band from Singapore, active since the 1960s. Among their singles were " Singapore Cowboy" (1978) and "Let's Put the Sing in Singapore" (1979). Background Mathew Tan is the leader of the group. The group was formed by Tan under the name Matthew Tan and the Mandarins in 1961. By the mid-1960s, they were appearing in hotels. By the 1970s, as Matthew and the Mandarins, they had achieved a large following.
