Aaron Sangala
Aaron Sangala (born 1958) is a politician who was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Security in the cabinet of Malawi in May 2009. Artistic and educational career Aaron Sangala was born in 1958, grandson of James Frederick Sangala, a founding member of the Nyasaland African Congress. Sangala worked for Lever Brothers (1974–1981), for the French Embassy teaching modern languages at the French Cultural Centre, and at St. Andrews High School teaching music. He is a founding member of the Sambangoma Cultural Troupe, Capital Theatre, Blantyre Round Table and Tiakalulu Guitar Quartet. Robert Chasowa
Robert Chasowa (March 20, 1986 – September 24, 2011) was a University of Malawi engineering student and political activist. Chasowa was the chair of a student activist group, Youth for Democracy (YFD). The YFD printed a weekly pro-democracy and anti-Bingu wa Mutharika administration newsletter called the ''Weekly Political Update'' that has circulation around the UNIMA campus. His mysterious death made international headlines but was ruled a suicide under the Bingu wa Mutharika administration. In October 2012, the results of a commission of inquiry led by President Joyce Banda's administration ruled his death as a murder. The United Democratic Front is a political party in Malawi founded in 1992 by Bakili Muluzi. Chimunthu Banda
Henry Chimunthu Banda is a Malawian politician who was the Speaker of the National Assembly of Malawi from May 2009 to May 2014. He was elected in 2009 as the Chair of the 19 member Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Africa region. He also served for a time as Minister of Energy and Minister of Mining, Youth Sports and Culture. Early life and education Banda is from Chipembere village in Nkhotakota District, Central Malawi.
