Anis Ahmed (military Officer)
Anis Ahmed (born 11 June 1947) is a retired Pakistan Armed Forces brigadier and Sitara-i-Imtiaz recipient who has served in the Pakistan military for 36 years. Born in Lahore Pakistan he is an authority on geopolitics and military history. The Sitara-e-Imtiaz () also spelled as Sitara-i-Imtiaz, is the third-highest (in the order of "Imtiaz") honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan. It recognizes individuals who have made an "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours". This award is not limited to the citizens of Pakistan, and it can also be awarded to foreign citizens based on their achievements and services done to the State of Pakistan (see Władysław Turowicz). Pakistan Rangers
The Pakistan Rangers () are a pair of paramilitary federal law enforcement corps' in Pakistan. The two corps are the Punjab Rangers (operating in Punjab province with headquarters in Lahore) and the Sindh Rangers (operating in Sindh province with headquarters in Karachi). There is a third corps headquarters in Islamabad but it is only for units transferred from the other corps for duties in the federal capital. They are both part of the Civil Armed Forces. Imtiazi Sanad () is the fifth-highest Pakistani military award for gallantry or distinguished service in combat. It can be conferred upon any member of the Pakistani Armed Forces or Civil Armed Forces who is mentioned in the dispatches of a senior commander for actions that do not warrant a higher gallantry award.
