Ani Palian
Ani Palian (born August 21, 1990 in Tbilisi) is a Russian (formerly Ukrainian) Paralympic swimmer. In 1991, she moved with her parents to live in Crimea as a doctor suggested as Saky mineral mud might help with her treatment. Career Palian has cerebral palsy and competes in S7 (classification), S7 classification races. She competed at the Swimming at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, 2012 Paralympic Games where she won a bronze medal in the Swimming at the 2012 Summer Paralympics – Women's 50 metre freestyle S7, 50 metre freestyle S7 event. 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships
The 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships was the eighth IPC Swimming World Championships, an international swimming competition for athletes with a disability. It was held in Glasgow, United Kingdom and took place from 13 to 19 July. Around 580 athletes from around 70 countries competed at the games, with Russia topping the tables with most gold medals and medals won. The event was held at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre located within Tollcross Park in Glasgow. Initially awarded as the IPC Swimming European Championships, the event was upgraded to a World Championship after a change to the IPC calendar. This proved to be the final event branded as the "IPC Swimming World Championships". On 30 November 2016, the IPC, which serves as the international federation for 10 disability sports, including swimming, adopted the "World Para" brand for all 10 sports. Order Of Princess Olga
The Order of Princess Olga () is a Ukraine, Ukrainian civil decoration, featuring Olga of Kiev and bestowed to women for "personal merits in state, production, scientific, educational, cultural, charity and other spheres of social activities, for upbringing children in families". It was established by President of Ukraine, Presidential Decree No. 827/97 of 15 August 1997 and has three grades (classes), the first being the highest. The 1st grade medal is adorned with four rectangular amethysts and features a gilded ornament with silver parts. The two other grades also feature precious stones. Both Ukrainian citizens and foreigners are eligible for the order. The order can be rescinded by the President of Ukraine if a bearer is convicted of a serious crime. Swimming At The 2012 Summer Paralympics
Swimming at the 2012 Paralympic Games was held from 30 August to 8 September 2012 at the London Aquatics Centre in London, UK. The competition consisted of 148 events, across multiple classifications, and all swum in a long course (50m) pool. Up to 600 swimmers (340 males, 260 females) swam in the Games. S7 (classification)
S7, SB6, SM7 are para-swimming classifications used for categorizing swimmers based on their level of disability. Swimmers in this class have use of their arms and trunk. They have limited leg function or are missing a leg or parts of both legs. This class includes a number of different disabilities including people with amputations and cerebral palsy. The classification is governed by the International Paralympic Committee, and competes at the Paralympic Games. Classification definition This classification is for swimming. In the classification title, S represents Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly strokes. SB means breaststroke. SM means individual medley. Swimming classifications are on a gradient, with one being the most severely physically impaired to ten having the least amount of physical disability. Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of movement disorders that appear in early childhood. Signs and symptoms vary among people and over time, but include poor coordination, spasticity, stiff muscles, Paresis, weak muscles, and tremors. There may be problems with sense, sensation, visual perception, vision, hearing, and speech. Often, babies with cerebral palsy do not roll over, sit, crawl or walk as early as other children. Other symptoms may include seizures and problems with cognition, thinking or reasoning. While symptoms may get more noticeable over the first years of life, underlying problems do not worsen over time. Cerebral palsy is caused by abnormal development or damage to the parts of the brain that control movement, balance, and posture. Saky ( Ukrainian and ; ) is a city in Crimea. Although it is the administrative centre of the Saky Raion, it does not belong to the raion (district), serving instead as the center and the only locality of Saky Municipality. Population: History The exact origin of the present town of Saky is unknown. At the time of the Crimean Khanate, Saky was a small village. 2024 World Para Swimming European Open Championships
The 2024 World Para Swimming European Open Championships took place in Funchal, Portugal from 21 to 27 April 2024. It was the 7th edition of the Championships and the third hosted in Portugal. Italy topped the medal table, followed by Ukraine and the Netherlands. The Championships were also open to non-European nations to offer athletes and teams an important test ahead of the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris. The Mixed 50 metre x 4 freestyle at the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships was held at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, United Kingdom from 13–17 July. As with other disability relay events, the freestyle works on a points system whereby the classification numbers of each swimmer are totaled to give a number no higher than 20. This was the first time the World Championships have included a mixed sex event, after its successful introduction in the 2014 IPC European Swimming Championships.
