Angus McFife
Thomas Laszlo Winkler (born 20 November 1985) is a Swiss singer. He is known for being the former vocalist of both power metal bands Angus McSix and Gloryhammer, playing the roles of "Angus McFife, Prince of the Land of Fife" and his descendant "Angus McFife XIII" in the band's internal story. Biography Born in Zollikofen, Bern, Winkler started his music career in 2009 after finishing his studies at the University of Bern as Master of Law by joining Swiss heavy metal bands Emerald and T-Rage. Winkler has also lent his voice to Chinese power metal band Barque of Dante for their single "Way of Your Life" in 2011 and stated he would contribute vocals for their second studio album "Lasting Forever". In 2010, he uploaded a video to YouTube of himself auditioning for the British power metal band DragonForce. Angus McSix is an international power metal band formed by Swiss singer Thomas Winkler and German producer, vocalist and guitarist Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann. The debut studio album, ''Angus McSix and the Sword of Power'', was released on 21 April 2023 through Napalm Records. The band members each embody a character in the concept story told through this album. History Angus McSix was formed in August 2021 after the split of ex-Gloryhammer frontman Thomas Winkler and his fellow musicians. The leader of the German band Orden Ogan, Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann, contacted Winkler with the idea of forming a new power metal supergroup. He suggested Angus McSix as the band's name, in reference to the stage character Angus McFife embodied by him so far. Alestorm are a Scottish heavy metal band formed in Perth in 2004. Their music is characterised by a pirate theme, and as a result, they have been dubbed a "pirate metal" band by many critics and their fanbase. It is the final album to feature vocalist Thomas Winkler. Story After Earth was destroyed by the Hootsman in order to stop Zargothrax from summoning the Elder God Kor-Virliath, Zargothrax flees into the resulting wormhole ("Into the Terrorvortex of Kor-Virliath"). Angus McFife XIII follows him, and arrives in an alternate 992 A.D. Zargothrax arrived in the distant past, and, having conquered Dundee and the Kingdom of Fife, lays siege to Dunkeld ("The Siege of Dunkeld (In Hoots We Trust)"). Angus attempts to stop Zargothrax but quickly finds that the Hammer of Glory has no power in this dimension. Orden Ogan is a German power metal band with folk metal elements. The band was formed in 1996 by Sebastian Grütling (drums) and Sebastian Levermann (lead vocals and guitar).
