Chandroji Angre
Sardar Chandroji Sambhaji Rao Angre was an Indian politician . He was a Member of Parliament, representing Madhya Bharat in the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Hindu Mahasabha. He was a seventh-generation descendant of the famous Maratha admiral, Kanhoji Angre. He distinguished himself as the champion of Hinduism and was popularly called "Dharmvir". He was the Foreign and Political minister of Gwalior and was also vice-chairman of the Executive council of the Gwalior Kingdom, for the minority of raja Jivajirao Scindia. He succeeded his father Sambhajirao Angre as head of the Angre family in 1917. Kanhoji Angre
Kanhoji Angre (Help:IPA/Marathi, [kanʱod͡ʒiː aːŋɡɾe]), also known as Conajee Angria or Sarkhel Angré (August 1669 – 4 July 1729) was a Maratha Navy admiral. Kanhoji became known for attacking and capturing European Union, European East Indiamen and collecting ''jakat'' (known to locals as taxes), seen by Europeans traders and colonists as ransoming of their crews. East India Company, British, Dutch East India Company, Dutch, and Portuguese Empire, Portuguese ships often fell victims to these raids. Despite attempts by the Portuguese and British to put an end to his privateering activities, Angre continued to capture and collect ''jakat'' from European merchant ships until his death in 1729. Kanhoji's naval prowess in capturing dozens of European trading ships and avoiding capture has led to many historians to appraise Kanhoji as the most skilled Indian navy chief in the maritime history of India. Ravindranath Angre
Ravindranath Angre (born 8 July 1956) is a former police officer in the Maharashtra Police Department. He is known for his extrajudicial killings of 54 suspected criminals, mostly linked to organized crime. These killings have led him to be characterized as an "encounter specialist". He joined the Congress in November 2018. Background and career Ravindranath Angre was born on 8 July 1956 in Mumbai. After completing his schooling, he received a B.A from Mumbai University. Once he completed his education he joined the police force as a Sub-Inspector in 1983. His batchmates include officers like Vijay Salaskar, Pradeep Sharma, Praful Bhosle and Vinayak Saude. Angre has shot dead 33 notorious gangsters in Mumbai, and 21 notorious criminals in Thane district. Angres () is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France.
