Anglican Schools Commission
AngliSchools, formerly known as the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC), was established in 1985, following the passage of a resolution by the Anglican Diocese of Perth, Perth Diocesan Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia. It was given the role of creating affordable Christian education in the Anglican tradition that is accessible to the disadvantaged and children with disabilities. There are over 2500 staff and 17500 students in AngliSchools schools as of 2024. Since its establishment, AngliSchools has founded or acquired sixteen schools, initially in Western Australia, and has expanded into Victoria (state), Victoria and New South Wales since 1998. AngliSchools does not directly control its member schools, but rather each school is governed by its own school council drawn from church, parent and community sources. Hillarys, Western Australia
Hillarys is a northern coastal suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, in the local government area of the City of Joondalup. It is part of the Whitfords precinct, and is located 21 km north-northwest of Perth's central business district via Mitchell Freeway and Hepburn Avenue. History Hillarys was named after an early settler, Bertram John Hillary (1895-1957), who had become blind in his right eye while fighting in Gallipoli during the First World War. He came to the area during the Great Depression while fishing for a living with his brother Harry, and built a boatshed on the beach in 1930. Subsequently, he expanded it to accommodate himself, his wife and four children. For many years, they were the only residents of what is now Hillarys, and the nearest store, at North Beach to the south, was a 5 km walk away. St George's Anglican Grammar School
St George's Anglican Grammar School is an independent Anglican co-educational secondary day school, located at 50 William Street, in the Perth central business district, Western Australia. Overview Students from Years 7 to 12 are accommodated in a middle school (Years 7 to 9) and senior school (Years 10 to 12). St George's Anglican Grammar School is a school of the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC). The school is Western Australia's first vertical schoolone based in a high rise building rather than on a traditional campus. St George's Anglican Grammar School opened in January 2015 as the 14th school of the Anglican Schools Commission. Mindarie, Western Australia
Mindarie is an outer coastal suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is located 36 kilometres (22 mi) north of Perth's central business district, and forms part of the City of Wanneroo local government area. After being briefly used for its limestone deposits in the early 20th century, the suburb was formally established in 1988 with the construction of the Mindarie Marina and hotel, one of the largest man-made marina resorts in the state. Several shops, restaurants and schools are now dispersed throughout the rest of the area, which is primarily residential in character. Kelmscott was one of four initial townsites established in the Swan River Colony.
