Anginda Peak
Anginda peak (അങ്ങിണ്ട മുടി) is a mountain in the Nilgiri Hills of the Western Ghats on the border of the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu and Palakkad district of Kerala. It has an elevation of and is the highest peak in Silent Valley National Park., p6/ref> It is just south of Sispara pass, and forms the southernmost boundary of Mukurthi National Park in Tamil Nadu. There is an unobstructed view of Anginda from the 30 m observation tower at Sairandhri Visitors Center. The Kunthipuzha River, which is a tributary of Bharathappuzha originates from the Anginda peak. There is a population of the endemic and endangered Nilgiri laughing-thrush at the Anginda-Sispara belt inside the Silent Valley National Park. Sispara , സിസ്പാര (Sisapara, Sisparra, Sisparah, Su:spore), a proper noun, is a combination of the Badaga language words ''si:su'' + ''pore''; meaning: magnetite bearing rock + gorge. Bharathappuzha ("River of Bhārata"), also known as the Nila or Ponnani River, is a river in India in the state of Kerala. With a length of 209 km, it is the second longest river that flows through Kerala after the Periyar. It flows through Palakkad Gap, which is also the largest opening in the Kerala portion of Western Ghats. Nila has groomed the culture and life of South Malabar part of Kerala. Kunthipuzha River
The Kunthipuzha River is a waterway located in the state of Kerala, India. It flows through the Silent Valley National Park. This river is also called as Thuthapuzha by the local population. Kunthipuzha is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala. This river is mainly used by the people of Mannarkkad taluk and Pattambi Taluks of Palakkad district and Perinthalmanna Thaluk of Malappuram District. Mukurthi National Park
Mukurthi National Park (MNP) is a protected area located in the western corner of the Nilgiris Plateau west of Ootacamund hill station in the northwest corner of Tamil Nadu state in the Western Ghats mountain range of South India. The park was created to protect its keystone species, the Nilgiri tahr. The park is characterised by montane grasslands and shrublands interspersed with sholas in a high altitude area of high rainfall, near-freezing temperatures and high winds. It is home to an array of endangered wildlife, including royal Bengal tiger and Asian elephant, but its main mammal attraction is the Nilgiri tahr.
