Anders Angerstein
Anders Angerstein (1614–1659), also called ''Andrae Angerstein'', was a German-Swedish ironmaster. Biography Anders Angerstein family, Angerstein is said to have been born in :de:Angerstein (Nörten-Hardenberg), Niedersachsen, Holy Roman Empire, with evidence indicating ultimate family origins in Hungary. He immigrated to Sweden along with accompanying miners, first in service of other equally immigrated ironmasters but with time settling by the ''Angerstein forge'' in Vikmanshyttan, Dalarna. Anders Angerstein was married to Anna Katarina Domb. Among his issue was Johan Angerstein. With craft production authorisation by the Swedish Board of Mines the holdings were extended, subsequently including Vira bruk, Thurbo, and Bispberg, inter alia, remaining in the family until the 19th century. Fritz Heinrich Angerstein (January 3, 1891 – November 17, 1925) was a German mass murderer, who killed eight people at his home in Haiger, on December 1, 1924. The subject of a media spectacle, Angerstein was sentenced to death eight times, and was executed in 1925. John Angerstein (MP)
John Angerstein (''c.'' 1774 – 8 April 1858) was an English Whig politician from Blackheath, London. He was the only son of John Julius Angerstein, who had moved to London from Russia and made his fortune as a Lloyds underwriter. He was elected at the 1796 general election as a Member of Parliament (MP) for borough of Camelford in Cornwall, holding the seat until the 1802 general election, when he left Parliament. He was one of the three people nominated in November 1829 to be the High Sheriff of Kent for 1830–31, but the King picked Edward Rice instead. He was nevertheless appointed High Sheriff of Norfolk for 1831–32, when he lived at Weeting Hall. John Julius Angerstein
John Julius Angerstein (1735 – 22 January 1823) was a Russian-born British businessman and art collector who worked an underwriter for Lloyd's of London. It was the prospect that his collection of paintings was about to be sold by his estate in 1824 that suddenly galvanised King George IV and British Prime Minister Lord Liverpool into purchasing his collection for the nation, which led to the founding of the National Gallery in Angerstein's house at 100 Pall Mall, London. Parentage John Julius Angerstein was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1735. It has wrongly been suggested that he was a natural son of Empress Catherine II or of Elizabeth, Empress of Russia. Reinhold Angerstein
Reinhold Rücker Angerstein (October 25, 1718, at Vikmanshyttan – January 5, 1760, in Stockholm) was a Sweden, Swedish metallurgy, metallurgist, civil servant and entrepreneur. Angerstein was a member of an old family of Swedish Iron Masters, of Germans, German descent. He passed his matriculation in Uppsala 1727 and then worked as an auditor at the Swedish Board of Mines (Bergskollegium) between 18 and 24 years of age. At the age of 31 he started a series of long journeys abroad, financed by the Swedish Association of Iron Masters (Jernkontoret). From these trips he wrote extensive and illustrated travel accounts back to Sweden. He primarily described technical and economic observations from mining and from Iron and Steel Works.
